**URGENT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, we are temporarily changing the way in which the Practice operates. This is to protect our elderly and vulnerable patients by separating our routine general practice work from patients presenting with a possible infectious illness. All routine work is now being undertaken at Four Crosses and Llanrhaeadr surgeries.
Your medication can be collected from your normal surgery but please follow signs on the door as these will be issued from a separate entrance.
**To help us to deal with queues as quickly as possible please try and only collect on the day your medication is due, you will be given a collection date at the time of ordering
To order medication please phone the following direct lines for each surgery:
- Llanfyllin - 01691 648259
- Four Crosses - 01691 649294
- Llanrhaeadr - 01691 649280
Medication Collection times
- Llanfyllin - 09:00am - 18:00pm
- Four Crosses - 09:00am - 17:00pm
- Llanrhaeadr - 09:00am - 17:00pm
Due to unprecedented demand on our services from Monday 23rd March we will be suspending our remote delivery service of medication to the following locations:
- Llansantffraid Spar
We have been overwhelmed with the offers to help get medication to support our patients who are unable to collect for themselves however due to the pressures currently on the practice we are unable to coordinate a service ourselves therefore Sheela Hughes our local Powys community connector has kindly offered to coordinate this service. If you wold like to help then please contact Sheela Hughes directly on 07462 343 149 or email Sheela.firstname.lastname@example.org
Collecting on behalf of someone else
It is understandable that patients will ask others to collect their medication on their behalf from the practice, to enable us to hand out medications safely and to avoid a wasted trip we will need to confirm a number of details when handing medications to the person collecting on your behalf. Therefore please ensure they have the following information:
- Patients full name
- Patients date of birth
- Patients full address including postal code
- Details of the medication they are collecting for you
- Date your medication is due for collection
For those patients on the pre-order system you will be given a collection date each time you collect.
For patients who call to order medication please note that your order will be ready for collection 72 hours after the day of order, however if the item you request is not on your repeat list this may take up to 5 working days before ready for collection.
If you are concerned you may have been affected by the Coronavirus, please go to the Wales Online Symptom Checker and dial 111 if you are advised to do so. If you are unsure or have no online access dial 111.
All calls for appointments in the Practice are now being triaged. Do not attend any of the surgeries without speaking to a clinician first.
All routine appointments will be ONLY offered at Four Crosses and Llanrhaeadr. If you have a routine appointment and feel unwell YOU MUST NOT attend your appointment. We have a dedicated cancellation line in place where you can leave your message to cancel on 01691 649293
**Please note Llanrhaeadr surgery will now be open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 17.30pm until further notice**
Our trained receptionists will answer all calls initially and ask for a brief description of the problem. This is very important as it is needed to direct you to the most appropriate member of the team. You will then be telephoned back by a doctor or other clinician as appropriate.
Minor Injuries Service:
The minor injury service is still open in Llanfyllin. This service operates between 8am and 18.30pm Monday to Friday. Please follow the signs at the front entrance to direct you.
Our website and Facebook will be regularly updated. Visit us on Facebook
Clearly this is a rapidly evolving situation and our service may have to change to reflect this but please be assured that the care of all our patients will be met as far as we can.
